Black Dance Collective (BDC)

Together, we’ve cultivated our commitment, an affirmation that grounds how we show up, gather, and vision in our bodies, in shared spaces, in our ancestry. This commitment required more than just how other collectives form. An abolitionist praxis in our context emphasizes building a strong care-centered community. What we’re aiming to build with Black Dance Collective (BDC) (and why we are “not BDC;” we are more than this moniker) is a collective presence, consciousness, and shared identity that mobilizes community members to develop the radical imagination needed to envision and build new and sustainable futures.
