Romero dance collective

Romero Dance Collective (RDC) is a contemporary dance collective based in Edmonton, Alberta, founded by choreographer and artistic director Jason Romero. RDC is a home for artists who are curious, physically driven, and passionate about performance. The collective brings together dancers with strong technical foundations and distinct artistic voices to create work that is physical, expressive, and deeply rooted in the human experience.

RDC is interested in the space between movement and meaning—using physicality, theatricality, experimentation, and collaboration to explore ideas that challenge, provoke, and connect with audiences. The company does not seek to define contemporary dance through a single aesthetic, but instead embraces a diverse range of influences including contemporary, jazz, improvisation, and other movement practices.

At the core of RDC is a commitment to the artist. Through rigorous company training, rehearsal, guest artists, choreographic processes, and research labs, dancers are encouraged to take risks, develop their individual voices, and contribute meaningfully to the creative process.

RDC is a collective built on curiosity, ambition, and collaboration, with a desire to create work that is both physically compelling and genuinely resonant.
